Sedbergh & The Howgill Fells
The Dalesman is centrally situated in the picturesque, market town of Sedbergh. The town itself is dominated by the renowned Public school, and there are idyllic riverside walks and strolls, or for the more energetic fellside rambling close by.
An ideal base for visiting either the English Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales, being only 5 miles from junction 37 on the M6 motorway, and only 30 minutes drive from Windermere in the heart of the Lake District.
Nestling under the bracken clad fell of Winder, the Dalesman is a perfect base for anyone wanting to walk the beautiful Howgill Fells, miles of gentle, undulating footpaths - unspoiled and undiscovered.
Also, Sedbergh lies on the Dales Way, a long distance footpath and the Cumbria Cycle Way passes the door of the Dalesman.
Sedbergh has many amenities including a 9 hole golf course, tennis club, bowling club and facilities welcoming holidaymakers. Fishing is available with daily or weekly permits and pony trekking can be arranged.
